About the Event

The Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), now named as Sigma: Global Nursing Excellence, the second largest nursing organization globally with 135,000 active members from over 500 chapters globally, is gearing up its chapters to realize its mission of “advancing health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership and service.”

Sigma Asia Region responds by pumping up enthusiasm towards involvement and collaboration among its seven chapters. Psi Beta Chapter likewise boldly rejoins by volunteering to host the second Sigma Asia Region Conference. It is an honor and privilege to work in collaboration with the other Asia chapters to forge unity of purpose, advance programs that address our common goals and make STTI Asia Region a strong force to carry our voice in strengthening nursing education and practice as our contribution in realizing global health and celebrating nursing excellence.

The Conference will bring together nurse researchers, nurse educators and other nursing leaders in nursing practice and nursing education. Our keynote speakers, Dr. Jean Yan and Dr. Leorey Saligan are two renowned nurse scientists whose works have contributed a lot to the current status of nursing globally. Equally competent chapter leaders or representatives from the seven chapters will share in a symposium how we in the region can respond to the current nursing education and practice gaps, address the concerns and issue a call for us to face the current challenges of our profession.

Breakout sessions will provide a platform for promising and seasoned researchers to share their works and in so doing inspire nursing students and nurse professionals.

Dumaguete City, the venue, offers beautiful beaches and tourist destinations. It is also home for native cuisines that serve palatable dishes very much liked by visitors.
